What drives plastic pallet cost
Plastic pallet cost at ACERLO is quoted by volume and destination, and prices are not published. Three factors move the number: pallet weight, freight and ISPM 15 compliance.
Stiropallet weighs 9.9 lb, while a wood pallet of the same size weighs 33 to 55 lb. Air freight is charged by weight, so a lighter pallet lowers the freight on each shipment.
Wood needs heat treatment or fumigation and a stamp to meet ISPM 15. Stiropallet skips all three, which removes those steps from the plastic pallet cost of an export.
